Worst Moments in the Spielberg Canon

Image
You’re watching a Steven Spielberg movie, one of the cinema’s greatest filmmakers and you’re enjoying the picture, and suddenly you double-take, ‘oh no, did I just see that?’ You rewind the DVD, or VHS cassette and watch some a bunch of costumed children skateboarding through conveniently placed ramps around the Peter Pan neverland set. This is one of those moments where Spielberg ‘goes wrong’ – a momentary lapse in judgment which against, the mostly magnificence of his body of work, sticks out like amateur hour. His filmography is peppered these moments, which makes it worth compiling and discussing. Monkey Swinging in INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULLS There's a few cringe moments in the latest Indiana Jones film, but none more awful than the moment Shia Lebeouf's character, during a hectic chase sequence through the jungle, starts swinging on vines like Tarzan to catch up to the baddies. Gymnastics Routine in THE LOST WORLD (1997) ...

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

The immensely likable novel "Bodies are where you find them", written by Brett Halliday, has been adapted for the screen by Shane Black and the result is one of the funniest movies playing around. "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" boasts an amazing dialog with some of the wittiest lines of any film in recent memory. The film pays a tremendous bonus to fans of the genre, which combines a detective story technique with some amusement and irony thrown in. The result is a fun time at the movies. Mr. Halliday pays tribute to those forgotten cheap pulp fiction novels that were so popular at one time in this country. The director has to be congratulated for combining the talents of two actors that pay off in unexpected ways. Robert Downey Jr., one of the best film actors, is paired in this movie with Val Kilmer, who tends to play heavy roles, but has never been seen as he is shown in the movie. Both these men compliment one another in ways we didn't expect. The chemistry betw...

Casino

Image
Casino has to be one of the most underrated films that Martin Scorsese directed in the nineties. The acting by the leads is good and the script is excellent. Robert Deniro gave an Oscar worthy performance and Joes Pesci is chilling yet funny again. Even Sharon Stone is good in this brilliant film

Up (2009)

"Up" continues the attitude of movies like "WALL*E," "Finding Nemo" and "Ratatouille": a Disney/Pixar accord appear in the summer months, buoyed by accomplished visuals and a chance that leaves the admirers in tears of joy. I'm not absolutely abiding how the humans abaft these flicks are consistently able to aftermath top-of-the-line superior at just about every time up at bat (the exception, I think, is "Cars" -- a meandering ball that relies too heavily on Larry the Cable Guy's one-trick pony tendencies. Admitting even again if Disney and Pixar aren't at their a lot of entertaining, they are still bigger than a lot of of their competitors.), but I'm not complaining; as continued as I'm abrogation the amphitheater in such a blissful mood, I'm good. And boy, let me acquaint you this: I'd action that even the a lot of aesthetic analyzer will be torn by "Up," even if they attending at the...

Before You Were Young

Image
in the days before you were young we used to sit in the mourning sun we used to turn the radio on what happened? we’d see our lies in the eyes of faith and take our cradles to the grave well even then we never saved from danger and if you ever leave me come i will be there waiting waiting for you know i will i love you for ever i’ll never say never bet i’ve only got two hands and i’ll never learn to dance i’ll never get a second chance whatever i’ll take the breath away from your sighs and whipe the tears away from your eyes and hope the fire never dies inside you and if you ever leave me come i will be there waiting waiting for you know i will i love you in the days before you were youn we used to sit in the mourning sun we used to turn the radio on what happened?
